About Us
Individuals and businesses in and around the Lock Haven area have looked to Reese’s Print Shop as their “one stop shop” for professional and personal digital & offset printing, copying, faxing and other graphic arts services for the last 30 years.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer the combination of traditional service with modern technology to give customers the best possible product that meets their ideas and expectations while keeping costs at a minimum. We strive to offer the “big box” store experience but to us you aren’t just another customer – you are a member of our surrounding community or a local business and we know what that means.
Our History
Reese’s Print Shop is a family business owned and operated by Randy and Judy Reese of Lock Haven and currently employs five other talented individuals that assist in day to day business operations.
In 1981 Reese’s Print Shop began in the basement of Randy & Judy’s home in Lock Haven with one small Kelsey letterpress – printing one business card at a time; mostly just as a hobby.
In 1989 Reese’s Print Shop had long outgrown the home basement and it was time to move to a larger production area and open the doors of an actual business storefront. At that time with one employee, the business was moved to 33 Bellefonte Avenue in downtown Lock Haven.
In 1995 Reese’s Print Shop moved to the present location at 7 East Main Street. With more than 2,500 square feet for production and a few more employees serving the printing needs of our customers in Lock Haven and also the surrounding areas was now possible.
In 2000 the needs and services where changing and so was our production and office areas. We added some new equipment in the production area including a numbering/perforating machine and a second folder to take care of those large orders and in the front office we added additional computers, a large copy machine capable of doing 81 copies per minute while it sorts, staples and 3 hole punches and a color copier with features such as reduction and enlargement, trim and zoom, and image repeat capabilities.
In 2005 technology continued to change and we were starting to transition from all offset printing to a mix of offset printing and digital printing. We added digital color copiers to service the needs of our customers for easy full color jobs and small basic color jobs. With the ability to print 50 full color digital pages per minute orders could be turned around faster than ever.
In 2010 we continue to change with new technology for outputting jobs with more efficiency and even better quality. Space within our shop has been greatly reduced over the last years from adding a broader range of equipment to take care of even a broader range of services but we continue to stay on top of the technology curve with the latest computer software, digital printing systems, upgraded offset presses and more up-to-date finishing options.
Prior to Reese’s Print Shop and 1981 Randy and Judy were both employed at The Express in Lock Haven. Randy was hired right after high school graduation working as a Head Pressman and was involved in the printing of the very first newspaper for The Express in 1975. Judy worked in the Circulation Department managing subscriptions and making sure that customers received their papers properly.
